Find your Las Vegas

Las Vegas can be a grand resort escape, a show-filled weekend, or a starting point for time in the desert. The best base depends on the balance you want. The center Strip puts many famous resorts close together; the north Strip favors expansive luxury properties; downtown brings a different atmosphere around Fremont Street. Summerlin offers a quieter alternative west of the main tourist corridor. Our refreshed luxury selection includes Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and Wynn Las Vegas. Four Seasons offers a south-Strip base in the Mandalay Bay tower; Fontainebleau and Wynn provide alternatives toward the north end. Compare resort locations, room categories, pool access, and mandatory charges for your dates. Building photographs illustrate the setting and do not establish the view or facilities included with every room. Build each day with distance and heat in mind. Resort entrances can be farther apart than they look, and crossing a large property takes time. Pair a late show or dinner with a slower morning, then choose a focused activity instead of filling every hour. The neighborhood searches and activities below help you plan a stay around the experiences you actually want.

Center Strip

A central base for resort hopping, major shows, and the Bellagio fountain area. This is a busy stretch with large properties and pedestrian bridges; check walking routes rather than measuring only straight-line distance.

North Strip

Choose this area for Wynn, Encore, and other large resort developments. It suits travelers spending substantial time at their hotel, but allow for transport when planning attractions farther south or downtown.

South Strip

A useful base for the themed resorts around Luxor and the southern end of the resort corridor. Expect large blocks and long indoor walks. Compare the location of your event or show with the actual hotel entrance.

Downtown & Fremont Street

Downtown has its own casino, entertainment, and dining scene beyond the Strip. Stay here if that atmosphere is central to your trip, and factor in travel time for Strip shows and dinner reservations.

Plan your Las Vegas stay

Plan for resort-scale distances

A hotel that looks next door on a map may still involve a long walk through entrances, malls, and pedestrian crossings. Leave generous time before shows and reservations.

Check mandatory resort charges

Compare the total price and what is included. Resort fees, parking, breakfast, and deposits vary by property and offer; review the booking terms before paying.

Reserve your must-see evening

Book the performance or dinner you most care about first, then arrange other plans around it. Confirm the venue, seating, age rules, and refund policy.

Respect desert heat

Schedule longer outdoor walks for cooler hours when possible. Carry water, use sun protection, and leave room for indoor breaks; weather can vary significantly by season.

Compare transport options

Walking works for nearby resorts. For longer trips, compare taxis, rideshare, and current public transit routes, including Strip-to-downtown service. Confirm pickup locations at large hotels.

Compare the complete hotel offer

Star classifications vary by provider and are separate from guest review scores. Compare room categories, included services, taxes, mandatory property charges, and cancellation terms for your dates. Photos may be archival and do not guarantee a particular room or current decor.

Frequently asked questions

Which part of Las Vegas is best for a first visit?

The center Strip is a useful starting point if you want to explore several famous resorts. The north Strip is a strong choice for a luxury resort-focused stay, while downtown suits a Fremont Street itinerary.

How long should I stay?

Three or four nights works well for a few shows, dining reservations, and resort downtime. Add time if you want a full-day excursion beyond the city.

Are all featured hotels five-star?

The featured selection focuses on five-star luxury hotels. Star classifications can differ by provider and are separate from guest review scores. Check your selected room category, included services, and booking terms.

Do I need a car?

A car is optional for a Strip-focused visit. It can be useful for Summerlin or independent excursions, but compare rental and parking costs with other transport.

Can I visit downtown from a Strip hotel?

Yes, but downtown is a separate area rather than a short resort-to-resort walk. Plan transport and allow extra time for traffic or transit connections.

What should I check before booking a pool-focused stay?

Confirm seasonal opening, access rules, operating hours, and any separate reservation requirements directly with the property. A resort photo does not establish that every facility is available during your dates.
